A.λόγος” 1, IV. 1 fin.) beyond calculation, unexpected, unlooked for, ἄτοπον καὶ π. II. παράλογος , , as Subst., incalculable element, τοῦ πολέμου π. Th.1.78 ; πολύς, μέγας π., the event is much, greatly contrary to calculation, Id.3.16, 7.55 ; τὸν π. τοσοῦτον ποιῆσαι τοῖς Ἕλλησι τῆς δυνάμεως, i. e. so belied the calculations of the Greeks, ib.28 ; ἐν τοῖς ἀνθρωπείοις τοῦ βίου παραλόγοις by miscalculations such as men make, Id.8.24 ; “τὸ πλείστῳ παραλόγῳ ξυμβαῖνονId.2.61.
