παρήορος , so in Ep. and Ion., but Dor. and Att. παράορος [ρα_], ον (as always in Trag.), also Dor. πάρα_ρος Theoc.15.8 : (παραείρω, cf. συνήορος) : -
A.joined or hung beside : hence παρήορος (sc. ἵππος), horse which draws by the side of the regular pair (ξυνωρίς), outrunner, = σειραφόρος, Il.16.471,474, D.H.7.73.
II. lying along, outstretched, sprawling, “ἔκειτο π. ἔνθα καὶ ἔνθα11.7.156 ; “ἀχρεῖον καὶ π. δέμας κεῖταιA.Pr.365.
III. metaph., reckless, senseless, “οὔ τι π. οὐδ᾽ ἀεσίφρωνIl.23.603, cf. Theoc. l.c. ; “π. ὄμμα τιταίνεινTryph.371 ; νόου παρήορος distraught, Archil.56.5.
