A.call with a slight change of name, Str.13.1.45 :— Pass., have one's name slightly changed, Id.6.1.15 ; “Ἀκτικὴν τὴν νῦν Ἀττικὴν παρονομασθεῖσανId.9.1.3.
2.form a derived name, “τὰ μὲν καινὰ ἔθεσαν, τὰ δὲ παρωνόμασανId.11.11.5, cf. Demetr.Eloc.97 :— Pass., to be named after, “παρωνομασμένον ἀπό τινοςD.S.2.4, cf. Str.11.2.15 ; to be derived, “ἔκ τινοςPlu. Cic.17 ; “παρά τιA.D.Adv.148.11 ; “ἔν τισιId.Pron.3.17 ; “ἀπό τινοςPlot.6.1.9 ; but διὰ τὸ παρωνομάσθαι because of the employment ofπαρονομασία11.2, Hermog.Id. 2.5.
II. τῇ Τύχῃ τὴν ἀνδρείαν παρωνόμασεν added the epithet 'virilis' to 'Fortuna', Plu.2.318f.
