Od.l.c. ; π. ὄφιν, δεινόν τε μέγαν τε. Hes. Th.299 ; Γαῖα πελώρη ib.159, 173, Q.S.2.225 ; θάμβ<*> Maiist.55 ; ὡς φοβερός, ὡς π. Ezek. Exag.125 : neut. pl. as Adv., πέλωρα βιβᾷ with gigantic tread, h.Merc. 225, cf. 349 : Sup. πελώριστος Theoc. Ep. 18.5 (fort. πεδωρισταί = Μεθορισταί (Dor. ὦρος = ὅρος), i.e. μέτοικοι).
