πεμπ-άζω , (πέμπε) prop.
A.count on the five fingers, i.e. count by fives, and then, generally, count, A.Eu.748, Thphr.Char.23.2(cj.), A.R.2.975, Plu.2.387e, etc.:—Med., ἐπὴν πάσας πεμπάσσεται (Ep.aor.1 subj.) when he has done counting them all, Od.4.412.
II. metaph., count up, reckon over, θεοπροπίας θυμῷ π. A.R.4.1748 :—Med., πάντα νόῳ πεμπάσσατο ib.350.—In Prose ἀναπεμπάζω is more common. (Aeol.acc.to EM660.4.)
