περιάγνυ_μι and περιαγν-ύω (Chio Ep.13.2): pf. part. (in pass. sense)
A.περιεα_γώςInscr.Délos 396 B 86 (ii B. C.):—bend and break all round, “τὸν βραχίοναChio l. c.; κρημνοῖς τὰς ναῦς π. wreck the ships upon them, App.BC2.150 :—Pass., “ὅσσους . . μέλαν περιάγνυται ὕδωρA.R. 2.791.
2. once in Hom., of sound, ὂψ περιάγνυται the voice is broken all round, i. e. spreads all round, Il.16.78; περὶ δέ σφισιν ἄγνυτο ἠχώ echo broke forth around them, Hes.Sc.279.
3. κόλπου περιαγνυμένου, Lat. recurvus, Agath.5.22.
