περιπέλομαι , Hom. only in Ep. aor. 2 part. περιπλόμενος (the true pres. being περιτέλλομαι, q.v.):
I. move round, be round about, only in part.,
1. of Place, c. acc., ἄστυ περιπλομένων δηΐων the enemy who have surrounded the town, Il.18.220, cf. A.R.3.1150 ; of things, “μίτρα μαστοῖς σφιγκτὰ περιπλομέναAP6.272 (Pers.).
2. of Time, περιπλομένου δ᾽ ἐνιαυτοῦ when the year has gone round, Od.11.248, cf. Hes.Op.386 ; “περιπλομένων ἐνιαυτῶνOd.1.16, Hes.Th. 184 ; πέντε π. ἐνιαυτούς for five revolved, i.e. complete, years, Il.23.833.
