πλα^τα^γ-ώνιον , τό,
A.broad petal of the poppy or anemone, so called because lovers took omens from it, laying it on the left hand, and striking it with the right, and it was a good omen if it burst with a loud crack, Theoc.11.57, cf. Nic.Fr.74.43, Poll.9.127 ; “τῷ μηκῶνος π.J.AJ3.7.6 (vulg. πλαταγῶνι) ; cf. τηλέφιλον.
