πολλοστ-ός , ή, όν (formed from πολύς on the analogy of εἰκοστός, τριακοστός, etc.),
3. π. μέρος or μόριον, a fraction with one for numerator and with a large denominator, i. e. a small fraction, “π. τι μέροςAnd.2.8, cf. X.Mem.4.6.7; “π. μόριονTh.6.86: freq. with a neg., “οὐδὲ [τὸ] π. μέροςLys.14.46, cf. Is.1.34; “μηδὲ πολλοστὸν ἐξευρίσκειν τινῶνPhld.Rh.1.210S.
4. of Time, π. ἔτει in the last of many years, i.e. after many years, Cratin.Jun.9; π. χρόνῳ after a very long time, Ar.Pax559, D.24.196, 57.18, Men.329.
II. in later Gr., = πολύς, πολλοστὸς ἔργοις one that has done a great deal, LXX 2 Ki.23.20, cf. Pr.5.19.
