A.busy about many things, mostly in bad sense, meddlesome, officious, a busybody, Eup. 222, Ar.Av.471, Lys.24.24, Isoc.15.98,230,237: freq. as epith. of the restless Athenians, as in the plays so entitled by Timocles, Diphilus, and Heniochus; applied to Socrates, Arr.Epict.3.1.21. Adv. -νως Mitteis Chr.31 viii 30 (ii B.C.).
