II. longed for, desired, missed, E.Cyc.620 (lyr.); ποθεινὴ δακρύοισι συμφορά desired by tears, i.e. desiring, calling for tears, Id.Med.1221(s.v.l.).
III. Subst., perh. name of a colour (cf. “πόθος111) or kind of paint, “χρίσει ποθεινῷPCair.Zen.445.11 (iii B. C.).
