II. metaph., = προπετής, πρόχειρος (Hsch.), heedless,ἀκουσταίLysis ap.Iamb.VP17.77; wilful, LXXSi.30.8; rash, A.D.Pron.21.23, Adv.165.11. Adv. Comp., πλησιάζειν τῇ γῇ προαλέστερον, of dolphins, rather rashly, Str.12.3.19: προα^λῶς is censured by Phryn.221.
