A.“-άσω” D.C.58.23, Att. “προβι^βῶ” Ar.Av.1570:— causal of προβαίνω, cause to step forward, lead on, τινα S.OC180 (lyr.); ποῖ προβιβᾷς ἡμᾶς ποτε; to what point, how far do you mean to carry us ? Ar.l.c.; τινὰ εἰς ἀρετήν, εἰς ἐγκράτειαν, Pl.Prt.328a, X.Mem.1.5.1; ἕως Μακεδονίας τὴν ἀρχήν extend it . . , D.H.1.3; push on, “οὐδὲν ἠδύνατο π. τῶν ἔργων” Plb.5.100.1:—Pass., to be developed, improved, of machines, Hero Bel.74.4.
