II. metaph., arduous, adverse, ἀλλ᾽ ἕν τί μοι π. E.Med.381; κεῖνό μοι μόνον π. Id.Or.790 (troch.); “σκοπεῖν . ., τί π. εἴρηται τῆς νομοθεσίας” Pl.Lg.746c; πρόσαντές [ἐστι] c. inf., Isoc.8.14; repugnant, distasteful, “λόγος” Hdt.7.160; “ζήτησις” Arist.EN1096a12; εἰ μή τι Μεγίλλῳ π.
