II. more freq. in Med. προσδέομαι , Dor. ποτιδεύομαι Theoc.5.63: fut. -δεήσομαι: aor. -εδεήθην:—to be in want of, stand in need of besides, τινος Th.1.102, 2.41, Lys.19.21, X.HG7.4.2; ἔτι ταῦτα μαντείας -δεῖται; Aeschin.1.76, cf. Pl.Phlb.63c, etc.: with neut. Adj., ἢν . . τι προσδέωμαι if I be at all in want, X.Cyr.1.3.17: with inf. added, “τοῦ ἱεροῦ προεστάναι οὐδὲν π.Id.HG7.4.35; desire much, τινος Id.An.5.9.24.
