A.προσδεδόκηκαMemn.45.3:—expect, whether in hope or fear; mostly c. inf. fut., expect that one will do or that a thing will be, A.Pr.930,988, Hdt.1.42, 7.156,235, Pl.Lg. 699b, etc.: c. inf. aor. and ἄν, that one would do or that a thing would be, Ar.Ra.556, Pl.Cra.438e, X.Lac.1.3, etc.: without ἄν, Μενέλεων . . προσδόκα μολεῖν ( = τὸ μολεῖν αὐτόν) expect his arrival, A.Ag. 675.
2. c. inf. pres., think, suppose that one is doing or that a thing is, E.Alc.1091, Pl.Lg.803e, X.An.6.1.16: c. inf. pf., think that a thing has been . . , Pl.Plt.275a.
