II. mostly in Pass., with aor. 2 and pf. Act. and fut. Med., grow to or upon, “σῷ κέρατα κρατὶ προσπεφυκέναι” E.Ba.921, cf. Pl.R.611d, Ti.45a; σοι ταῦτα προσφύσεται will accrue, Id.Ep.313d: freq. in Arist. of any after or adventitious growth which does not form part of the organism, π. τῇ ὑστέρᾳ τὸ ᾠόν, πρὸς τῇ ὑστέρᾳ, GA752a11, 754b17; “τὰ κέρατα π. μᾶλλον τῷ δέρματι” HA517a27, cf.
