2. rest upon, be close to, “τοῖς ὄρχεσι” Arist.HA510a21, cf. Thphr.HP7.13.6; adhere, [τοῖς ὀδοῦσι] Diocl.Fr.141, cf. Orib.Fr.76.
II. sit down against a town, besiege it, Hdt.2.157, 5.104, Th.7.48, etc.: metaph., importune, Id.6.94; keep a close watch upon, D.23.167.
2. attend diligently to, “ταῖς θεραπείαις ἐπιμελῶς” IG11(4).1299.12 (Delos, iii B.C.); devote oneself to, “τοῖς παισί” Jul.Or.3.110c; of bees, π. [θύμῳ] Plu.2.41f; τέχνῃ π. Lyc.386.
III. προσκαθήμενον (dub. sens.) is v.l. for προσκαθεψημένον in Hp.Vict.2.52.
