Cyr.4.2.16; of volcanic fires, Arist.Mir.833a1; “πυρά . . εὔδηλα πᾶσιScymn.258: metaph., “δῆμος π. ἐς τὸν Τίβεριν πολλὰ ἐνέβαλεD.C.55.13. (A sg. πυρόν is cited by Hdn.Gr.2.944, but rejected by Eust.729.63: the accent, as well as dat. πυροῖς, shows that πυρά does not belong to πῦρ.)
