Pl.l.c.; from πυρός, St.Byz.: it is suggested that the pyramids were named from resembling a “πυραμίς11 in shape; but the shape of a “π.11 is unknown: the derivation from Egypt. pr-m-wś 'the height of a pyramid' is doubtful.)
