A.flame-coloured, yellowish-red (“πυρρὸν ξανθοῦ τε καὶ φαιοῦ κράσει γίγνεταιPl.Ti.68c, cf. Arist.Metaph.1054b13, Gal.9.600), ᾠοῦ τὸ π. the yolk of an egg, Hp.Mul.2.171, PLit.Lond.170 (i A.D.); “ λευκότης γίγνεται πυρρήHp.Aër.20; of sediment in urine, Id.Epid.6.1.5.
