A.ever yet, in early Ep. always with neg. and best written divisim, “οὐ γάρ πώ ποτέ μ᾽ ὧδέ γ᾽ ἔρως φρένας ἀμφεκάλυψενIl.3.442, cf. Hes.Op.650, etc. (referring to fut., “οὐκ ἄν πώ ποτ᾽ ἐγώ . . ἐλθοίμηνBatr.178); usu. preceded by neg. in post-Hom. writers, but “πώ ποτ᾽ οὐδαμοῖAr.V.1188: c. fut. in later Gr., κακία οὐχ εὑρεθήσεται ἐν σοὶ π. LXX 1 Ki.25.28; οὐ μὴ διψήσει π. Ev.Jo.6.35, cf. PMag.Par.1.291; also οὐ μὴ γένωνται καθαραὶ π. UPZ78.27 (ii B.C.); “μηδ᾽ ὄψον . . μετὰ τούτου π. δαίσῃCratin.Jun.8: with pres., PMag.Leid.V.11.30; cf. οὐ π., μὴ π., οὐδεπώποτε, μηδεπώποτε.
II. sts., later, without a neg.,
2. with a conditional clause, “εἴ που ξένον τις ἠδίκησε πώποτεAr.Ra.147, cf. V.556, Ach.405, Pl. Tht.196a, etc.
4. with the Art. and Part., οἱ π. γενόμενοι who ever yet existed, Isoc.10.38, cf. 16.33, Pl.Phd.116c, etc.: the Part. may be omitted, “οἱ π. προδόταιLycurg.134; μεγίστους τῶν π. X.HG3.5.14, cf. PLips.119v.ii 4 (iii A.D.).
