2. headland, Od.3.295; hence as pr. name of several places, esp. Ῥ. Μολυκρικόν and Ῥ. Ἀχαϊκόν at the mouth of the gulf of Corinth, Th.2.86 (cf. 84).
3. later, bay formed by a foreland, Ael.NA15.3. (Perh. akin to ῥίς, cf. Ness, Naze with nose.)
