A.slay a victim, sacrifice, Hdt.9.61, 72: abs., ἐσφαγιάζετο αὐτῷ [τῷ ποταμῷ] Id.6.76 (but just below, σφαγιασάμενος τῇ θαλάσσῃ ταῦρον）“; ς. τῇ Ἀγροτέρᾳ” X.HG4.2.20, cf. An.4.5.4; ς. εἰς τὸν ποταμόν ib.4.3.18.
