A.jest,gibe, Eup.159.15,244, Ar.Nu.542, Pax750, Pl.316, Pl.R.452b, etc.; ἐν σκώμματος μέρει by way of a joke, Aeschin.1.126; “εἰς γέλωτα καὶ σκώμματ᾽ ἐμβαλεῖνD.54.13; “εἰς ς. καταστῆναιLys.Fr.75; ς. παρὰ γράμμα a pun, Arist.Rh.1412a29; it generally implies scurrility, but not necessarily, v. EN1128a30, cf. Thphr. ap. Plu.2.631e.
