4. rarely c. dupl. acc., τοὺς δὲ ἔστιζον (codd., “ἔστιξανPlu., Hude) στίγματα βασιλήϊα tattooed them with the royal tattoo-marks, Hdt.7.233; ς. ἵππον εἰς τὸ μέτωπον tattoo the figure of a horse on one's forehead, Plu.Nic.29; “ς. εἰς τὸ μέτωπον γλαῦκαςId.Per.26, cf. X.l.c.
