A.“ἐστοχαζόμην” Id.Euthd.277b: fut. “-άσομαι” Isoc.Ep.6.10, M.Ant.10.6: aor. “ἐστοχασάμην” Pl.Grg. 464c, Hp.VM9: pf. “ἐστόχασμαι” Pl.Lg.635a, Arist.HA571a27:— Gal. uses this pf., as also aor. ἐστοχάσθην, in pass. sense, pf. in 10.885, 11.35, aor. in 13.713, cf. Ruf. ap. Orib.7.26.40; ἐστοχάσθην in act. sense, Ps.-Callisth.1.3 (cod. L): (στόχος):—aim or shoot at, c. gen., [σκοποῦ] Pl.R.519c, Isoc.l.c.; “δίκην τοξότου ς. τινός” Pl.Lg.706a; ἄλλου στοχαζόμενος ἔτυχε τούτου aiming at another man hit the deceased, Antipho 2.1.4; “ς. ἀνθρώπων” X.Cyr.1.6.29.
