A.συγγιγνώσκω1):—agreeing with, Pl.Lg. 770c; “σφίσιApp.BC2.122; τῆς ἀνάγκης about . . , Plu.Cleom.10; sharing knowledge with, ἀλλήλοισι cj. in Hp.Vict.1.6 (Vorsokr.i p.106).
II. (συγγιγνώσκω IV) disposed to pardon or forgive, indulgent, E.Fr.645, cf. Pl.Lg.921a, Arist.EN1143a19; ς. εἶναί τινι to be indulgent, show favour to a person, X.Mem.2.2.14; ς. εἶναί τινος to be disposed to forgive a thing, E.Med.870, cf. X.Cyr.6.1.37; “ς. τινί τινοςD.H.1.58; ξυγγνώμονες ἔστε [τισι] κολάζεσθαι, τῆς τιμωρίας τυγχάνειν, allow them to . ., Th.2.74; τὸ σύγγνωμον indulgence, Pl.Lg.757e; “Ἀπόλλωνι καὶ Ἀσκληπιῷ συγγνώμοσινIG42(1).432 (Epid., iv A.D.).
2. Pass., pardoned, deserving pardon or indulgence, “ξ. ἐστὶ τὸ ἀκούσιονTh.3.40; “ξ. τι γίγνεσθαι πρὸς τοῦ θεοῦId.4.98.
