συμβι^β-άζω , Causal of συμβαίνω,
A.bring together: Pass., to be put together, to be knit together, framed, “ἔκ τινοςEp.Eph.4.16, Ep.Col.2.19.
2. metaph., bring to terms, reconcile, Hdt.1.74; ς. τινά τινι reconcile one to another, Th.2.29; ς. [τινὰς] εἰς τὸ μέσον, as mediator, Pl.Prt.337e: abs., bring about an agreement, IG12.57.24.
II. put together, compare, examine, “τὰ λεγόμεναPl.Hp.Mi.369d; [τὰς μεταφοράς] Phld.Rh.1.174 S.; “ς. περί τινων ἕκαστον εἴηPl.R.504a (though Timaeus here expld. it intr. agree).
III. elicit a logical consequence, infer (cf. “συμβαίνω111.3 b), Arist.Top.155a25, SE181a22; “ἔκ τινωνId.Top.161b37; ς. ὅτι . . ib. 154a36; ς. ὡς . . Id.Rh.Al. 1426a37, 1441a6; ς. πότερον . . Id.Top.158b27; πῶς . . Phld.Rh.1.172 S. (Pass.); ὅτι . . Act.Ap.9.22: c. acc. et inf., Ocell.3.3:—Pass., συμβιβασθέντος when the conclusion has been drawn, v.l. in Arist.SE 179a30.
