4. abs., feel sympathy, Id.Tim.14, IG14.760 (Naples, i A.D.); ἐκ τοῦ παθεῖν γίγνωσκε καὶ τὸ συμπαθεῖν: καὶ σοὶ γὰρ ἄλλος συμπαθήσεται παθών (fut. Med. in act. sense) Philem.230, cf. Phld.Po.5.33.
