b. anoint thoroughly, Sor.1.46, 64, al.; rub in thoroughly, Dsc.Eup.1.233.
2. Gramm., unite two syllables into one, D.H.Comp.22, etc.:—Pass., coalesce, of two syllables, Id.Dem. 38; cf. συναλιφή.
