συνεθ-ίζω ,
A.accustom, “ἕτερον ἑτέρῳPl.R.589a; ς. τινὰ ποιεῖν τι accustom him to do . . , D.13.13, Aeschin.1.24, etc.; ς. [τὰ τέκνα] πρὸς τὰ ψύχη accustom them to bear cold, Arist.Pol.1336a13, cf. HA567a6; make customary, Phld.Mus. p.107 K.:—Pass., become used or habituated, and in aor. 1 and pf. to have become so, Th.4.34, Pl.Tht.146b, Plt.285a, Arist.Pol.1340a16, Sor.1.89: c. inf., “συνειθίσθην ποιεῖν τιIsoc.2.38, X.Mem.3.14.6; τινι to a thing, Arist.Pr. 917a15, Phld.Mus.p.102 K.: impers., συνειθισμένον ἦν it had become the custom, Lys.1.10.
