συσκοτ-άζω ,
II. intr., grow quite dark, οὐρανὸς ς. νεφέλαις ib. 3 Ki.18.45, cf. Jl.3.15, al.:—but,
2. in early writers, always impers., ξυσκοτάζει (sc. θεός) it grows dark, Th.1.51, 7.73, cf. X.Cyr. 7.5.15, etc.; ἤδη συσκοτάζοντος (sc. τοῦ θεοῦ) when it was now getting dark, Lys.Fr.75.4, cf. Diocl.Fr.141; “συσκοτάζοντος ἄρτι τοῦ θεοῦPlb. 31.13.9.
