τα^χύνω ,
A.make quickly, “κοιλὴν κάπετον χερσὶ ταχύνατε” S.Aj.1404 (anap.); ὡς δύνασαι . . ταχύνας σπεῦσον κοιλὴν κάπετον ib.1164 (anap.); τάδε τοί με σπερχόμενος ταχύνει such are the words by which he urging hastens me, i.e. urges me to hasten, E.Alc.257 (lyr.):— Pass., “σελὶς ταχυνομένη” quickly written, AP6.227 (Crin.).
II. intr., to be quick, make haste, hurry, A.Pers.692, Ch.660, S.OT861, OC219 (lyr.), Ar.Ec.582: in Prose, X.Cyr.8.5.15: c. gen., “τοῦ ποιῆσαι” LXX Ge.18.7.
2. to be early, “ταχύνουσαν ἢ βραδύνουσαν ἀκμὴν προδιαγνῶναι” Gal.19.201.
