II. generally, end, extremity, ῥινῶν ἔσχατα τ. Emp. 100.4, cf. Poll.2.134; αἶψα δὲ τέρθρον ἵκοντο . . Οὐλύμποιο its summit, h.Merc.322 (v.l. ἵκοντο κάρηνα).
2. extremity, crisis, in a disease, “ἐπὴν τὸ τ. τοῦ πάθεοςHp.Mul.2.125 (v.l. τὸ στερεόν), cf. Erot. and Gal. l.c.: hence, the end, i.e. death, E.Fr.371. (Cf. τέρμα.)
