ὕπ-ομβρος , ον,
A.mixed with rain, θέρος . a rainy summer, Plu.Cam. 3 (as v. l. for ἔπομβρον)“; ἔαρGp.1.12.21; “νύξEM450.49; “γῆPhilostr. Im.1.9, cf. Ph.Bel.82.28, 97.27; impregnated,ἀσφάλτῳPhilostr.VA 1.24.
II.ὕπομβρον ὀστέονHp. ap. Erot., who explains it as ὑπόνομον καὶ κάθυγρον γεγονός, and ap.Gal.19.149, who says ὕφυγρον, ὑπόπυον, where the reference is to Hp.VC15; μόλις ὕπομβρον γενόμενον καὶ κατακλυσθὲν τὸ ἱερεῖον apparently drenched, as t.t. in divination, Plu.2.438a.
