3. of plants, run riot, grow rank and luxuriant, Thphr.HP2.7.6, CP3.15.4.
4. metaph., of a river that swept away and drowned a horse, Hdt.1.189; so γῆ ὕβριστο had been carried away by river-floods, Emp.(?)154.
