A.go just before, guide, lead, τινι E.El. 664, Pl.Euthd.278c, etc.: abs., go first, lead the way, “ὑφηγοῦ” S.El. 1502, cf.Th.1.78, Pl.Phd.82d; τοῦτο εὐθὺς ὑφήγηται this is the guiding principle, Arist.Pol.1260a4; κατὰ τὸν ὑφηγημένον τρόπον according to the normal plan, Id.EN1108a3, Pol.1256a2; κατὰ τὴν ὑ. μέθοδον ib. 1252a17 (it is not necessary to regard these usages as pass.).
II. c. acc. cogn., ὑ. τὴν ὁδόν show the way, Plu.Pomp.76, etc.; ὑ. ταῦτα gave these instructions, Lys.33.3:—Pass., τὰ δι᾽ ἡμῶν ὑφηγούμενα the precepts laid down by us, Ael.Tact.Prooem. 6:—but,
