2. metaph., nobler, more excellent, εὖχος, κῦδος, Il.11.290, 12.437; “γενεῇ ὑ.” 11.786 (where Eust. takes it as an Ion. form for νεώτερος, 884.33, cf. Archil.28, and v. ὑπέρτατος 11).
3. c. gen., victorious or triumphant over, “δαΐων” Pi.N.4.38; ἀντιπάλων Wilcken Chr.109.4 (iii B.C.), OGI90.2 (Rosetta, ii B.C.); “ἡμῶν γε . . Νέμεσίς ἐσθ᾽ ὑ.” A.Fr.266, cf.
