II. metaph., crouch before another, bow down to, τινι X.Cyr.1.5.1; also “. τοὺς νέους θεούςA.Pr.960, cf. 29, X.Cyr.1.6.8; “τὸ τῶν Ἀθηναίων ἀξίωμαAeschin.2.105: abs., to be modest or shy, X.Cyr.1.3.8.
