A.peninsula, Hdt. 4.12, Th.6.97, Str.16.2.10, Plu.Pyrrh.6, etc.
2. island with a bridge to it, Paus.5.24.1.
II. as pr. n., of various peninsulas, esp.
1. the Chersonese, i.e. the peninsula of Thrace that runs along the Hellespont, Hdt.6.33.
2. the Tauric Chersonese or Crimea, Id.4.99, etc.
3. the peninsula between Epidaurus and Troezen, Th.4.42.
