Ὀλύμπια

Ὀλύμπια (sc. ἱερά) the Olympic games, in honour of Olympian Zeus, established by Hercules in 776 B. C., and renewed by Iphitus, and held at intervals of four years at Olympia, Hdt.; Ὀλ. ἀναιρεῖν, νικᾶν to win at the Olympic games, id=Hdt., etc.
