ἄντομαι ἀντί Dep. only in pres. and impf.

I.=ἀντάω to meet, in battle, c. dat., Il.:—absol., διπλόος ἤντετο θώρηξ the breastplate doubled (by the belt) met or stopped (the dart), id=Il.
II.= ἀντιάζω 1. 2, c. acc. pers. to approach with prayers, entreat, Soph., Eur.
