ἄνωγα Deriv. uncertain. The verb ἄνωγα is a perfect form with present sense. The pluperfect is used with imperfect sense.

to command, order, also to advise, desire, urge:— c. acc. pers. et inf., σιωπᾶν λαὸν ἀνώγει bade the people keep silence, Il.; also c. dat. pers., Od.; c. acc. pers., without inf., θυμὸς ἄνωγέ με my spirit bids me, Hom.
