ἐκδίδωμι 1 ἐκδιδοῖ as if from -διδόω 2

I.to give up, surrender, esp. something seized unlawfully, Lat. reddere, Il., Hdt.:— ἐκδ. δοῦλον to give up a slave to be examined by torture, Dem.
2.ἐκδ. θυγατέρα to give one's daughter in marriage, Lat. nuptum dare, Hdt., attic; so in Mid., ἐκδίδοσθαι θυγατέρα Hdt., Eur.
3.to give out for money, let out for hire, Hdt.:—c. inf., like Lat. locare aliquid faciendum, Dem.
4.to lend out money on security, such as the cargo of a ship, ap. Dem.
II.intr. (sub. ἑαυτόν or -ούς) of rivers, to empty themselves, Hdt.
