I.to rub out, πῦρ ἐκτρ. to produce fire by rubbing, Xen.:— to rub hard, Soph.
II.to rub out, i. e. to destroy root and branch, Hdt., Eur.; βίον ἐκτρ. to bring life to a wretched end, Soph.:—Pass., πρόρριζος ἐκτέτριπται Hdt.
III.to rub constantly, wear out, Eur.
