IV.part. pres. ἐπιστάμενος, η, ον, is often also used as an adj. knowing, understanding, skilful, Hom.:—c. gen. skilled or versed in a thing, id=Hom.:—adv. ἐπισταμένως, skilfully, expertly, id=Hdt., Hes.
