κἀν

I.for καὶ ἄν, Hes., attic; κακὸν δὲ κἂν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ γνοίης μιᾷ Soph.:—later, κἄν came to be used, even when the Verb in apodosi was of a tense that could not be joined with ἄν, as, κἂν εἰ πολλαὶ [αἱ ἀρεταί] εἰσιν, for ὦσι, Plat.
II.for καὶ ἄν or καὶ ἐάν, and if, even if, although, Soph., Ar., etc.
