I.to take, seize, grasp, Il.; ὀδὰξ λαζοίατο γαῖαν may they bite the dust, id=Il.; metaph., πάλιν δ᾽ ὅ γε λάζετο μῦθον he took back, i. e. altered his speech, Hom.
II.the form λάζυμαι occurs in Hhymn. and Eur.
