οὔκουν οὐκ, οὖν

I.in direct negation, not therefore, so not, Lat. non ergo, non igitur, itaque non, Hdt., Soph., etc.; rarely in apodosi:—but the inferential force is scarcely discernible, like Lat. non sane, in narrative, οὔκων δὴ ἔπειθε so he failed to persuade him, Hdt.
II.in interrog. not therefore? not then? and so not? like Lat. nonne ergo? Aesch.; cf. οὐκοῦν.
